Unique Compound

A Tannus tyre uses a foaming technology. It may look similar to that used in many lightweight sports shoes, but it is totally different from any other foaming technology both in terms of its process or the condition. It is made from the one-and-only material “Aither compound” with a very unique foaming process. Aither 1.1 has much enhanced elasticity than Aither 1.0, ensuring a better feel whilst riding and good grip performance. Furthermore, Aither 1.1 is performing at a much lower rolling resistance – approximately 15% less. It now has the rolling resistance rate that closely matches premium pneumatic city bike tyres, taking this a step closer to ideal bike tyre.

Use your current rims

There is no need to change rims, if you have clincher rims now, Tannus tyres can be mounted on them using the Tannus patented locking pin system and instructions, and tools are included with every tyre.

The rim width is very important, so please measure your rims before purchase to guarantee a perfect fit.

The 16 x 1.25″ & 16 – 18 x 1.25″ Tyre is compatible with all Brompton folding bikes with 16″ wheels and a (40-349) ETRTO/ISO (fitting 17-20mm inner rim widths). Some after market wheels might not be compatible.

Installation

It is recommended that Tannus tyres be installed by a Tannus approved fitting service to guarantee maximum safety and performance.

Please note that a Tannus Tyres will look smaller in diameter than the wheel as they come coiled. These will stretch to fit once they have been uncoiled.
