Bike Rentals

By Renting a bike and paying a deposit, I signify my agreement to the Full Terms & Conditions of leeli cycles' rental agreement as outlined below.

Essential Requirements
You must provide the following when booking and collecting a bicycle for rental:
  • Bring a Photographic ID: Like a Driving License or Passport
  • A Cash Deposit (Minimum of £25),
The Right Size
Check your measurements against our Frame size guide table against this information and the ages of any children. The right sized bike is essential to ride comfort, safety and stability.

Ride Safely
For your own safety, please wear a helmet and any other adequate protection, and use lights and locks where necessary.
Please consult this Safety Guide for help with using UK roads and cycleways safely.

For your own safety
Ensure you and you are medically insured and that you are deemed medically fit to cycle by a doctor or GP before riding, and that you have adequate insurance cover.

Summary of Terms & Conditions (includes additional terms)
We exercise a Fair Use Policy whereby upon return, some minor and aesthetic damage and wear and tear from use is to be expected after use.
Please use you own insurance before riding. We do not accept ANY liability for personal loss, physical/medical damages to yourself or others once the bike once the bike is in your possession. We recommend you insure yourself and the bicycles you rent before use as we cannot be held liable for any mechanical failures and collisions, cycling injuries.

Outside Repairs:
  • All Prices paid for rentals and bookings are non-refundable.
  • We check every bike for road worthiness, but every rider is responsible for checking their rental bike, accessories and equipment is safe to ride and fit for us, and is in working order before every use.
Loss and Damages:
  • Rental does not signify or represent transfer of ownership, it is simply a short term loan.
  • We retain the legal right to reclaim and recover any rental bikes at any time, components and accessories at any time.
  • We reserve the right to reclaim any costs as a result, including theft and damage and vandalism.
  • Any bicycles or accessories lost, stolen or damaged beyond use will result in us retaining any and all deposits received.
  • This included but its not limited to any rented item or bicycle that is not returned within the agreed date and time or rental period.
  • Stolen or abandoned Bicycles will be tracked and reported as stolen, and all Deposits retained.
  • Any costs incurred in the process of safe recovery, repairs of parts rendered a danger to use, considered/rendered unfit for use,
  • or replacement of a bicycle or rental item that is required may be claimed against the person renting, in a small claims court if necessary.
Unauthorised Work:
  • We do not and will not authorise any professional or paid for repairs of components and bicycles outside of our workshop,
  • and cannot be held responsible for any costs paid or repair work outside of the leeli cycle workshop.
  • This includes punctures, broken pedals/cranks and snapped chains, as this can occur at any time during use.

Important Rental Information:

Prices & Deposits values vary depending on model, specifications age of the bike and Ride Discipline. Deposits are only returnable if the bike and any accessories are returned at the pre-agreed time and in a reusable fully functioning condition. Retained Deposits will be used for the repair or replacement of any damaged goods. All rentals will Includes a minimum mandatory Deposit of £25 per bike. Booking is Available based upon bicycle availability and suitable size(s) needed , please book a minimum of three days in advance to secure yourself a suitable bicycle for each person. Always remember to take a lock to secure your bike and it's Quick Release Components when left unattended.

  • Deposits
    Deposits are only returnable if the bike and any accessories are returned at the pre-agreed time and in a reusable fully functioning condition. Retained Deposits will be used for the repair or replacement of any damaged goods.

    A minimum charge of £25.00 deposit per bike must be paid with the minimum agreed fee(s) for the time or rental for each bike booked. As mentioned above, this to insure against any potential costs incurred by bike damage or loss of a bike.

    We will happily exclude any wear and tear costs within reason, like snapped/worn chains, punctures, worn or torn tyres, brake pads, ball bearings or rusted parts.
  • When making a booking

    It is important when booking that you wrong>provide all required bike sizes and terrain requirements to ensure availability.

    We provide helmets and maps for you can borrow for your journey, please bring your own if you can, as these are limited in availability.

  • Advice on Health and Safety
    Please observe and recap yourself with the Cycling Rules of The Road before cycling, so you can stay safe on the roads.
    Use of helmets for every ride are strongly recommended, because accidents are unpredictable, and potentially cause mortal wounds.

    Please be responsible by either bringing or borrowing a helmet and cycling and manoeuvring at reasonable speeds. We are happy to loan out helmets, but please be sure to ask when booking, to be sure that we have enough.

    We recommend bringing your own pocket medical kit and making sure your phones are fully charged and with at some calling credit in case of medical emergencies or becoming stranded or lost (we are happy to come find you if you become stranded).
  • Your chosen bike
    When picking your bike, please check that you are comfortable and satisfied with and used to the tightness of the brakes, gear system, and saddle height. You are responsible for making adjustments, tuning and comfort once we leave you with the bike. Please do not rate us on something we will not be able to change once you have left with the bike.

    We will help you with this before you set off, and adjust the bike to make it comfortable for you as needed.
  • Advice on bicycle security
    We are also happy to loan a lock for each bike if possible, but once again, if you can, please bring your, own. We strongly recommend "Sold Secure" Labelled locks.
  • Liability
    All bikes are pre-checked for safety and reliability, then double checked before you get to use them.

    We will try to provide you with a compact bicycle repair and medical kit, in case something happens.

    Each customer must sign a Personal Liability agreement form before their journey, the following statements will be part of that agreement:

    Each rider and/or their parents/guardians are solely responsible for their own health and safety during their journey and rental time.
     
    Each rider confirms their satisfaction with the mechanical worthiness of the bike you have chosen to use, and also an agreement to your potential participation and/or agreement to any event triggered procedures, such as mentioned below as an example:

    In the event of a bike becoming lost, stolen or abandoned for any reason during a rental, the payee and rider (if a responsible adult) are required to:
    (a) Write a record of the event, including the a timeline of events, circumstantial evidence, last known location of the bike, and/or any known reason for loss or abandonment.
    A photocopy will be provided.
    (b) If the bike cannot be safely recovered within 30 days, the deposit for that bike will be retained, including any other deposits to make up the last known replacement value of the bike before it was rented.
    If the bike is successfully recovered within 30 days and is still in a repairable condition, the deposit may be returned at our discretion, minus any part replacement costs, depending on the circumstances involved.
